Method
Preparation
Melt Chocolate and Butter
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the unsalted butter and semisweet chocolate. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until fully melted and smooth.
Mix Sugar and Eggs
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, large eggs, and large egg yolks until well combined and slightly frothy.
Combine Mixtures
Slowly pour the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture while whisking continuously to prevent the eggs from cooking.
Add Flour and Vanilla
Sift in the all-purpose flour and add the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt. Gently fold the mixture until just combined and smooth.
Baking
Fill Ramekins
Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins, filling each about 3/4 full.
Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are firm but the center remains soft.
Cool and Serve
Remove from the oven and let sit for 1 minute. Carefully invert each ramekin onto a plate, tapping gently to release the cake. Serve immediately with scoops of vanilla ice cream.
