Method

Preparing the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Use your hands to mix until all ingredients are thoroughly combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the meat mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a round patty about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to help it cook evenly.

Grilling the Patties

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F or 200°C).

  2. 4

    Grill the Patties

Place the patties on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and place a slice of American cheese on top. Grill for another 4-5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the patties reach your desired doneness.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 5

    Prepare the Buns

While the patties are grilling, slice the burger buns in half and lightly toast them on the grill for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.

  2. 6

    Assemble the Burger

Once the patties are cooked, place each patty on the bottom half of a toasted bun. Top with lettuce, tomato slices, pickles, ketchup, and mustard to taste. Place the top half of the bun on top to complete the burger.
