Method

Preparation

1

Start by boiling water in a kettle or pot until it reaches a rolling boil.

2

If using fresh ginger, slice it into thin pieces while the water is boiling.

Brewing Tea

3

Once the water is boiling, remove it from heat and let it sit for about 30 seconds to cool slightly (ideal temperature for tea brewing is around 200°F or 93°C).

4

If you are using loose tea leaves, place them in a tea infuser, and add it to the hot water. If using tea bags, simply add the bags directly into the water.

5

Add the sliced ginger (if using) into the hot water with the tea leaves or bags.

6

Let the tea steep for 3-5 minutes depending on your desired strength.

Serving

7

After steeping, remove the tea leaves or bags from the water.

8

Stir in honey or sugar to taste, and add lemon slices for flavor.

9

If desired, add milk or cream and fresh mint leaves for extra flavor.

10

Pour the hot tea into cups and serve immediately.
