Method

Preparation

1

Marinate the Meats

Choose your meat: pork belly, chicken, or beef. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, fish sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, black pepper, and sesame oil. Add your chosen meat and allow it to marinate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results.

2

Prepare the Onions

Slice the onions into rings and set aside. You can use half for grilling and the other half for garnishing.

Skewering

3

Assemble the Skewers

Soak wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning. Thread marinated meat and onion slices onto the skewers, alternating as desired.

Grilling

4

Grill the Skewers

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Grill the skewers for about 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally until the meat is cooked through and has nice grill marks.

Serving

5

Serve with Sauce

Serve the skewers hot, drizzled with coconut hoisin sauce and topped with crushed peanuts and green onion for garnish.
