Cinnamon Sugar Coating

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, salt, and ground cinnamon. Set aside.

  3. 3

    Cream Butter and Sugars

In another bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

  4. 4

    Add Eggs and Vanilla

Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.

  5. 5

    Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.

  6. 6

    Prepare Cinnamon Sugar Coating

In a small bowl, mix together the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon for the coating.

  7. 7

    Form and Coat Cookies

Roll the dough into balls, about 1 inch in diameter, and then roll each ball in the cinnamon sugar mixture.

  8. 8

    Bake the Cookies

Place the coated balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.

  9. 9

    Cool and Serve

Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
