Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Bake the Potatoes

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Wash the russet potatoes thoroughly and poke holes in them with a fork. Place them directly on the oven rack and bake for about 45-60 minutes, or until they are tender when pierced with a fork.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Toppings

While the potatoes are baking, prepare your toppings. Chop the chives or green onions and set aside. In a small bowl, combine the sour cream and a pinch of salt and pepper.

  3. 3

    Assemble the Loaded Potatoes

Once the potatoes are done baking, remove them from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Cut a slit down the center of each potato and gently squeeze the sides to open them up. Add a tablespoon of butter to each potato, followed by a generous scoop of sour cream, shredded cheddar cheese, and chopped chives or green onions.

  4. 4

    Serve

Sprinkle additional salt and pepper to taste, and serve hot as a delicious side dish or a hearty main course.
