Method

Preparing the Ribs

  1. 1

    Season the Ribs

In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Rub this mixture all over the pork ribs, ensuring an even coating.

  2. 2

    Let it Rest

Cover the seasoned ribs with plastic wrap and let them rest in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results.

Making the BBQ Sauce

  1. 3

    Combine Ingredients

In a medium saucepan, combine ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, mustard, hot sauce, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 4

    Cook the Sauce

Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat to low and let it simmer for about 15 minutes until thickened.

Cooking the Ribs

  1. 5

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 150°C (300°F).

  2. 6

    Bake the Ribs

Place the seasoned ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Cover the ribs with another piece of foil and bake for 2.5 to 3 hours, or until the meat is tender.

  3. 7

    Apply BBQ Sauce

Remove the ribs from the oven, discard the top foil, and brush a generous amount of BBQ sauce over the ribs.

  4. 8

    Broil the Ribs

Turn on the broiler and place the ribs back in the oven for an additional 5-10 minutes, watching closely to avoid burning, until the sauce is caramelized.

Serving

  1. 9

    Slice and Serve

Remove the ribs from the oven, let them rest for a few minutes, then slice between the bones and serve with extra BBQ sauce on the side.
