Method

Prepare the Steak

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Rub the grass-fed beef steak with salt and black pepper on all sides.

  2. 2

    Sear the Steak

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned steak and sear for about 3-4 minutes on each side until browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Make the Chipotle Adobo Sauce

  1. 3

    Sauté Aromatics

In the same skillet, add minced garlic and chopped onion. Sauté until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

  2. 4

    Combine Ingredients

Add the chipotle peppers, diced tomatoes, cumin, oregano, brown sugar, and chicken broth to the skillet. Stir well to combine.

  3. 5

    Simmer the Sauce

Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for about 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.

Slow Cook the Steak

  1. 6

    Combine Steak and Sauce

Place the seared steak back into the skillet with the chipotle adobo sauce. Ensure the steak is well-coated.

  2. 7

    Slow Cook

Cover the skillet and reduce the heat to low. Let it cook slowly for about 2-3 hours, or until the steak is tender.

Serve

  1. 8

    Garnish and Serve

Once cooked, remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes. Slice the steak and serve it garnished with fresh cilantro and lime wedges.
