Method

Preparation of the Pork

  1. 1

    Season the Pork

Rub the pork shoulder evenly with Hawaiian sea salt and liquid smoke. Ensure the entire surface is coated.

  2. 2

    Wrap the Pork

Wrap the seasoned pork shoulder tightly in aluminum foil, sealing it well to prevent any juices from escaping.

Cooking the Pork

  1. 3

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).

  2. 4

    Slow Roast

Place the wrapped pork shoulder on a baking sheet and roast in the preheated oven for about 6-8 hours. The pork is done when it easily pulls apart with a fork.

Preparing the Cabbage

  1. 5

    Shred the Cabbage

While the pork is roasting, slice the cabbage into thin strips. Set aside.

  2. 6

    Prepare the Green Onions

Chop the green onions into small pieces for garnish.

Serving

  1. 7

    Shred the Pork

Once the pork is done, carefully unwrap it and use two forks to shred the meat into bite-sized pieces.

  2. 8

    Combine and Serve

Serve the shredded pork on a plate with a generous portion of shredded cabbage. Garnish with chopped green onions. Add soy sauce and sriracha to taste if desired.
