Chocolate Lava Cake Ingredients
Method
Chocolate Lava Cake Directions
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) to ensure it's hot enough for the cakes.
- 2
- 3
Melt Butter and Chocolate
In a medium microwave-safe bowl, combine the unsalted butter and semi-sweet chocolate. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval, until melted and smooth.
- 4
Mix Sugar and Eggs
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, large eggs, and egg yolks until well combined and slightly frothy.
- 5
Combine Mixtures
Slowly pour the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture, stirring continuously to prevent curdling. Add the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.
- 6
Add Flour
Gently fold in the all-purpose flour until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- 7
Fill Ramekins
Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins, filling each about 3/4 full.
- 8
Bake the Cakes
Place the ramekins on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are firm but the center is soft.
- 9
Cool and Serve
Remove the cakes from the oven and let them cool for 1 minute. Carefully invert each ramekin onto a plate, allowing the cakes to release. Serve immediately with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
