Method
Preparation of Ahi Poke
- 1
Prepare the Ahi Tuna
Start by cutting the sushi grade Ahi tuna into small cubes, about 1/2 inch in size. Make sure to use a sharp knife for clean cuts.
- 2
Mix the Marinade
In a medium-sized bowl, combine the soy sauce, sesame oil, sea salt, and red pepper flakes. Whisk together until well blended.
- 3
Combine Tuna and Marinade
Add the cubed Ahi tuna to the bowl with the marinade. Gently toss to coat the tuna evenly with the marinade.
- 4
Add Garnishes
Fold in the chopped green onions and toasted sesame seeds. If using, add the diced avocado and sliced cucumber for extra flavor and texture.
- 5
Marinate
Cover the bowl and refrigerate the Ahi poke for at least 15-30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
