Prepare Coffee Mixture
In a shallow bowl, combine the espresso or strong brewed coffee, coffee liqueur, and granulated sugar. Stir until the sugar is dissolved and set aside to cool.
Mascarpone Mixture

Prepare Mascarpone Mixture
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the mascarpone cheese, heavy cream, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy. In a separate bowl, whisk the egg yolks until pale and creamy. Gently fold the egg yolks into the mascarpone mixture until well combined.

Assemble Tiramisu
Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy. Arrange half of the soaked ladyfingers in a single layer in a 9x9 inch dish. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers. Repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers and remaining mascarpone mixture. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.

Serve
Before serving, dust the top of the tiramisu with cocoa powder. Cut into squares and serve chilled.
