Spaghetti

Marinara Sauce

Method

Meatballs

  1. 1

    Prepare the Meatball Mixture

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Meatballs

Using your hands, form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter. Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  3. 3

    Bake the Meatballs

Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Bake the meatballs for 20 minutes or until browned and cooked through.

Spaghetti

  1. 4

    Boil the Water

In a large pot, bring 4 liters of water to a boil. Add 1 tablespoon of salt to the boiling water.

  2. 5

    Cook the Spaghetti

Add the spaghetti to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.

Marinara Sauce

  1. 6

    Sauté the Vegetables

In a large saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add the minced garlic and sauté for an additional minute.

  2. 7

    Prepare the Sauce

Stir in the crushed tomatoes, dried basil, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  3. 8

    Combine Everything

Once the meatballs are baked, add them to the marinara sauce and let simmer for an additional 5 minutes. Serve the meatballs and sauce over the cooked spaghetti.
