Preparation of Topping

Chop Tomatoes
Dice the ripe tomatoes into small pieces and place them in a mixing bowl.

Add Basil
Chop the fresh basil leaves roughly and add them to the diced tomatoes.

Prepare Garlic
Mince the garlic cloves finely and add them to the tomato and basil mixture.

Season the Mixture
Add balsamic vinegar, salt, and black pepper to the bowl and mix gently until well combined.

Slice the Bread
Cut the baguette or Italian bread into ½ inch thick slices.

Toast the Bread
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the slices on a baking sheet and brush one side with olive oil. Toast in the oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown.

Top the Toasts
Remove the toasted bread from the oven and let it cool slightly. Spoon the tomato topping generously onto the oiled side of each slice.

Serve the bruschetta immediately as an appetizer or snack.
