Method

Tea Base

  1. 1

    Boil Water

In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil.

  2. 2

    Steep Tea

Once the water is boiling, add 1 cup of Thai tea mix. Stir briefly, remove from heat, and let steep for 5–10 minutes depending on desired strength.

  3. 3

    Strain Tea

Strain the tea through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a heat-safe container to remove the tea leaves or bags.

Sweetener and Cream

  1. 4

    Sweeten the Tea

While the tea is still warm, add 4 tablespoons of sugar and stir until fully dissolved.

  2. 5

    Add Condensed Milk

Stir in 4 tablespoons of sweetened condensed milk to add creaminess and sweetness.

  3. 6

    Cool the Tea

Let the sweetened tea cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

Serving

  1. 7

    Prepare Glasses

Fill 2 tall glasses with 1 cup of ice cubes each.

  2. 8

    Pour Tea

Pour the chilled Thai tea into the glasses, leaving about an inch of space at the top.

  3. 9

    Top with Milk

Slowly pour 2 tablespoons of evaporated milk into each glass over the back of a spoon for a layered effect.

  4. 10

    Serve

Serve immediately with a straw or stir before drinking. Enjoy!
