Base Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking dish.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.

  3. 3

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until well combined.

  4. 4

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not over mix.

  5. 5

    Bake

Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Frosting Preparation

  1. 6

    Prepare the Frosting

In a bowl, beat the unsalted butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar and cocoa powder, alternating with milk, and continue to beat until smooth and fluffy. Add vanilla extract and mix well.

  2. 7

    Frost the Base

Once the base has cooled, spread the frosting evenly over the top using a spatula.

Decoration

  1. 8

    Add Decorations

Sprinkle chocolate shavings over the frosted dessert and arrange fresh berries on top for a beautiful presentation.
