Method

Prepare the Patties

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently to avoid overworking the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the meat mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a round patty, about 1 inch thick.

Cook the Patties

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness. If using cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.

Prepare the Toppings

  1. 5

    Slice the Vegetables

While the patties are cooking, slice the tomato and onion into rings. Rinse and dry the lettuce leaves.

Assemble the Burgers

  1. 6

    Prepare the Buns

Toast the burger buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes until slightly crispy.

  2. 7

    Assemble

On the bottom half of each bun, add a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked patty, sliced tomato, and onion. Drizzle with ketchup and mustard to taste, then top with the other half of the bun.
