Bruschetta Base

Tomato & Avocado Topping

Method

Preparing the Bruschetta Base

  1. 1

    Slice the Baguette

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice the baguette diagonally into 1/2-inch thick slices.

  2. 2

    Brush with Olive Oil

Place the baguette slices on a baking sheet and brush both sides with olive oil.

  3. 3

    Toast the Baguette

Toast the baguette slices in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning.

  4. 4

    Rub with Garlic

Once toasted, remove the baguette slices from the oven and immediately rub one side of each slice with a peeled garlic clove for added flavor.

Preparing the Tomato & Avocado Topping

  1. 5

    Chop the Tomatoes

Dice the tomatoes into small pieces and place them in a mixing bowl.

  2. 6

    Prepare the Avocado

Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh out with a spoon. Dice the avocado and add it to the mixing bowl with the tomatoes.

  3. 7

    Add Basil and Seasonings

Tear the fresh basil leaves into smaller pieces and add them to the bowl. Add lemon juice, salt, and black pepper to taste. Gently toss everything together to combine, being careful not to mash the avocado.

Assembling the Bruschetta

  1. 8

    Top the Toasted Baguette

Spoon a generous amount of the tomato and avocado mixture onto each toasted baguette slice.

  2. 9

    Serve Immediately

Serve the bruschetta immediately while the bread is still warm and crispy.
