Method

Meatballs

  1. 1

    Prepare the Meatball Mixture

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, and ground veal. Add the bread crumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, eggs, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix everything together until well combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Meatballs

Using your hands, form the mixture into meatballs about 1 inch in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  3. 3

    Cook the Meatballs

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes or until they are cooked through and browned on the outside.

Marinara Sauce

  1. 4

    Sauté Onions and Garlic

In a large saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.

  2. 5

    Add Tomatoes and Seasonings

Stir in the crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, black pepper, and sugar. Bring the sauce to a simmer.

  3. 6

    Simmer the Sauce

Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. This allows the flavors to meld.

  4. 7

    Add Meatballs to Sauce

Once the meatballs are cooked, gently add them to the marinara sauce. Let them simmer together for an additional 10 minutes.

Spaghetti

  1. 8

    Cook the Spaghetti

In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain the spaghetti and set aside.

  2. 9

    Serve

To serve, plate a generous portion of spaghetti, top with the meatballs and marinara sauce. Garnish with additional grated Parmesan cheese and chopped parsley if desired.
