Burger Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Beef Patties
In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.
- 2
Form the Patties
Divide the ground beef mixture into two equal portions and shape them into burger patties. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up while cooking.
- 3
Cook the Patties
Preheat a grill or frying pan over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.
Topping Assembly

Fry the Eggs
In a non-stick skillet, fry the sunny side eggs over medium heat. Cook until the whites are set and the yolks are still runny, about 2-3 minutes.
- 5
Toast the Buns
Lightly toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster until they are golden brown.
