French Toast

Cornflake Coating

Method

Preparation of French Toast Mixture

  1. 1

    Whisk the egg mixture

In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until well combined.

Cornflake Coating Preparation

  1. 2

    Prepare the cornflake coating

In a separate bowl, crush the cornflakes into smaller pieces, then mix in sugar and a pinch of salt.

Cooking the French Toast

  1. 3

    Soak the bread

Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, coating both sides thoroughly.

  2. 4

    Coat with cornflakes

Immediately after soaking, press each slice into the cornflake mixture, ensuring both sides are well coated.

  3. 5

    Cook the French toast

Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add a little butter or oil. Cook the coated bread slices for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.

Preparing Jameson Syrup

  1. 6

    Mix the syrup

In a small saucepan, combine the Jameson whiskey and maple syrup. Heat over low heat until warm, stirring occasionally.

Serving

  1. 7

    Plate the French toast

Serve the cornflake-crusted French toast warm, topped with whipped cream and mixed berries.

  2. 8

    Drizzle with syrup

Drizzle the warm Jameson syrup over the top before serving.
