Method
Preparation
- 1
Trim and halve the Brussels sprouts
Start by rinsing the Brussels sprouts under cold water. Remove any yellow or damaged outer leaves. Cut off the woody ends and then slice each Brussels sprout in half from top to bottom.
- 2
Preheat the oven
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) to ensure it’s hot enough to roast the Brussels sprouts evenly.
Cooking
- 3
Toss with seasonings
In a large mixing bowl, combine the halved Brussels sprouts with olive oil, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Toss well to coat all the sprouts evenly.
- 4
Arrange on baking sheet
Spread the seasoned Brussels sprouts in a single layer on a large baking sheet. Make sure they are not overcrowded to allow for proper roasting.
- 5
Roast the Brussels sprouts
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and roast for 20-25 minutes, or until the Brussels sprouts are golden brown and crispy on the edges. Stir halfway through for even cooking.
- 6
Add balsamic vinegar
Once the Brussels sprouts are roasted, remove them from the oven and drizzle with balsamic vinegar. Toss gently to combine.
- 7
Serve
Transfer the Brussels sprouts to a serving dish and serve warm as a delicious side dish.
