Method

Bread Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Ingredients

Add the flour, salt, olive oil, and fresh herbs to the yeast mixture. Stir until a rough dough forms.

  3. 3

    Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

    First Rise

Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.

  5. 5

    Shape the Loaf

Once risen, punch the dough down, shape it into a loaf, and place it in a greased bread pan.

  6. 6

    Second Rise

Cover the loaf with a cloth and let it rise again for about 30-45 minutes.

  7. 7

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  8. 8

    Bake the Bread

Bake the loaf for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.

  9. 9

    Cool the Bread

Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Herb-Garlic Butter Directions

  1. 10

    Prepare the Butter

In a medium bowl, soften the unsalted butter to room temperature.

  2. 11

    Mix Ingredients

Add minced garlic, fresh herbs, and salt to the softened butter. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.

  3. 12

    Chill the Butter

Transfer the herb-garlic butter to a small container or wrap it in parchment paper and refrigerate until firm.
