Fish Tacos

Method

Fish Preparation

  1. 1

    Make Marinade

In a bowl, mix together olive oil, lime juice, cumin, chili powder, and salt to create a marinade.

  2. 2

    Marinate Fish

Add the fish fillets to the bowl and coat them well with the marinade. Allow them to marinate for at least 15 minutes.

  3. 3

    Cook Fish

Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the marinated fish for about 3-4 minutes per side, until cooked through and flaky.

  4. 4

    Shred Fish

Once cooked, remove the fish from the heat and break it into smaller pieces.

Salsa Fresca Preparation

  1. 5

    Mix Salsa Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine diced tomatoes, chopped red onion, cilantro, minced jalapeño, lime juice, and salt.

  2. 6

    Let Salsa Sit

Stir well until all ingredients are evenly mixed. Set aside to let flavors meld.

Black Beans Preparation

  1. 7

    Combine Beans and Spices

In a saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the black beans, cumin, garlic powder, and salt.

  2. 8

    Heat Beans

Cook for about 5-7 minutes until heated through, stirring occasionally.

Guacamole Preparation

  1. 9

    Prepare Avocados

Cut the avocados in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a mixing bowl.

  2. 10

    Add Ingredients to Avocados

Add lime juice, salt, chopped cilantro, and minced garlic to the bowl with avocados.

  3. 11

    Mash Guacamole

Mash the mixture with a fork until you reach your desired level of creaminess.

Taco Assembly

  1. 12

    Warm Tortillas

Warm the corn tortillas in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side.

  2. 13

    Assemble Tacos

Assemble the tacos by placing a portion of shredded fish on each tortilla, followed by salsa fresca, black beans, and a dollop of guacamole.

  3. 14

    Serve Tacos

Serve immediately with lime wedges on the side.
