Broth

Method

Preparing the Broth

  1. 1

    Combine Ingredients

In a large pot, combine the chicken broth, water, soy sauce, mirin, minced garlic, minced ginger, and chopped green onions.

  2. 2

    Simmer the Broth

Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 20 minutes. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

Cooking the Noodles and Preparing Toppings

  1. 3

    Cook the Ramen Noodles

In a separate pot, bring water to a boil. Add the ramen noodles and cook according to package instructions, usually around 4-5 minutes, until tender. Drain and set aside.

  2. 4

    Prepare the Soft-Boiled Eggs

In a small pot, bring water to a boil. Gently add the eggs and boil for 6-7 minutes for a soft-boiled effect. Remove and place in ice water to cool before peeling.

  3. 5

    Prepare Other Toppings

Slice the nori sheets, rinse the bean sprouts, and prepare bamboo shoots. Set all toppings aside.

Assembling the Ramen

  1. 6

    Combine Broth and Noodles

In large serving bowls, divide the cooked ramen noodles evenly. Pour the hot broth over the noodles.

  2. 7

    Add Toppings

Top the ramen with soft-boiled eggs (halved), nori sheets, bamboo shoots, bean sprouts, and a sprinkle of sesame seeds. Drizzle with chili oil to taste.

  3. 8

    Serve

Serve the ramen hot and enjoy!
