Prepare the Cake Batter
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, beat the eggs until pale and frothy. Add the milk and vanilla bean paste, mixing well.

Combine Ingredients
Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. Melt the butter and fold it into the batter until smooth.

Bake the Cake
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Soak the Cake
Once the cake has cooled, poke holes all over the surface with a fork. Slowly pour the tres leches mixture over the cake, allowing it to soak in.

Core and slice the green apples. Toss them with brown sugar.

Whip the Egg Whites
In a clean bowl, beat the egg whites until soft peaks form. Gradually add the granulated sugar, continuing to beat until stiff peaks form.

Flavor the Meringue
Add the green apple flavoring and gently fold it into the meringue.

Bake the Meringues
Preheat the oven to 200°F (93°C). Pipe or spoon the meringue onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake for 1.5 to 2 hours until dry and crisp.
