Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Take the ribeye steak out of the refrigerator and allow it to come to room temperature for about 30-45 minutes before cooking. This ensures even cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Pat the steak dry with paper towels. Rub both sides with olive oil, then season generously with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Pan

Heat a cast iron skillet or heavy frying pan over medium-high heat. Allow it to get hot, about 5 minutes.

  4. 4

    Sear the Steak

Once the pan is hot, place the steak in the pan. Sear for about 4-5 minutes without moving it, until it develops a nice crust.

  5. 5

Flip and Add Butter and Rosemary

Flip the steak using tongs. Immediately add the butter and fresh rosemary to the pan. Baste the steak with the melted butter for added flavor.

  6. 6

    Finish Cooking

Cook the steak for an additional 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, or adjust cooking time to reach your desired doneness. Use a meat thermometer for accuracy (130°F for medium-rare).

  7. 7

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the pan and place it on a cutting board. Tent loosely with foil and let it rest for about 5-10 minutes to allow juices to redistribute.

  8. 8

    Slice and Serve

Slice the steak against the grain and serve it with your favorite sides.
