Preparation

Preparation

1. Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). This will ensure the oven is hot enough for baking the banana bread.

2. Prepare the Loaf Pan

Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan with butter or cooking spray to prevent the banana bread from sticking.

Mixing Ingredients

3. Combine Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon until well combined.

4. Mix Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, mix the mashed ripe bananas, granulated sugar, beaten eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.

5. Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can make the bread dense.

Add Optional Ingredients

6. Incorporate Add-ins

If desired, fold in chopped walnuts or pecans and/or chocolate chips into the batter until evenly distributed.

Baking

7. Pour Batter into Loaf Pan

Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.

8. Bake the Banana Bread

Place the loaf pan in the preheated oven and bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

9. Cool the Bread

Once baked, remove the banana bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then, transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
