Grits Preparation

  1. 1

    Boil Water

In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil over high heat.

  2. 2

    Add Grits and Salt

Once the water is boiling, stir in 1 cup of stone ground yellow grits and 1 tsp of salt.

  3. 3

    Cook Grits

Reduce the heat to low and cook the grits, stirring occasionally, for about 20-25 minutes until thickened and creamy.

  4. 4

    Stir in Cheese

Once cooked, remove from heat and stir in 1 cup of aged white cheddar cheese until melted and well combined.

Toppings Preparation

  1. 5

    Cook Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook 4 slices of bacon until crispy. Remove from the skillet and drain on paper towels.

  2. 6

    Chop Chives

While the bacon is cooking, chop 2 tablespoons of chives and set aside.

  3. 7

    Prepare Maple Drizzle

Measure out 2 tablespoons of maple syrup for drizzling over the finished dish.
