Mimosa Ingredients

Method

Juicing the Oranges

  1. 1

    Prepare the Oranges

Wash the fresh oranges thoroughly under running water to remove any dirt or pesticides.

  2. 2

    Juice the Oranges

Cut the oranges in half and use a citrus juicer or reamer to extract the juice into a measuring cup. Strain the juice to remove any pulp or seeds if desired.

  3. 3

    Measure the Juice

You should aim for about 2 cups of freshly squeezed orange juice for your mimosas.

Mixing the Mimosa

  1. 4

    Chill the Sparkling Wine

Before serving, chill the bottle of sparkling wine in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or in an ice bucket for 30 minutes.

  2. 5

    Combine Ingredients

In a flute glass, pour 1 part of freshly squeezed orange juice to 2 parts of chilled sparkling wine. Adjust the ratio to taste.

  3. 6

    Sweeten (Optional)

If you prefer a sweeter mimosa, add a teaspoon of granulated sugar to the orange juice before mixing, and stir gently until dissolved.

  4. 7

    Garnish (Optional)

For an elegant touch, garnish your mimosa with an orange slice or a sprig of mint.
