Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Juicing the Lemons

Roll each lemon on the countertop to soften them. Cut the lemons in half and use a juicer or your hands to extract the juice into a measuring cup. You should have about 1 cup of lemon juice.

  2. 2

    Mixing the Sugar

In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and the granulated sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar completely dissolves to create a simple syrup. Remove from heat and let it cool.

Combining Ingredients

  1. 3

    Mixing Lemonade

In a large pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice, the cooled simple syrup, and the remaining 3 cups of water. Stir well to combine all the ingredients.

  2. 4

    Chilling the Lemonade

Add in the ice cubes to the pitcher and stir again. Optionally, add mint leaves and lemon slices for garnish.

Serving

  1. 5

    Serve the Lemonade

Pour the lemonade into glasses filled with additional ice if desired. Enjoy your refreshing homemade lemonade!
