Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Clean the Fish

Rinse the Gulf Red Snapper under cold water to remove any residue. Pat dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

  3. 3

    Prepare the Fish for Baking

Using a sharp knife, make 3-4 diagonal slashes on each side of the fish to allow for even cooking and flavor absorption. Season both sides of the fish generously with salt and black pepper.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Aromatics

Chop the garlic and finely chop the fresh herbs. Slice one lemon into thin rounds and set aside. Squeeze the juice of the second lemon into a bowl.

Cooking

  1. 5

    Stuff the Fish

Stuff the cavity of the fish with chopped garlic, fresh herbs, and lemon slices. Drizzle the inside of the cavity with a little olive oil and lemon juice.

  2. 6

    Add Olive Oil

Rub the outside of the fish with olive oil, making sure to coat all surfaces.

  3. 7

    Bake the Fish

Place the fish on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until the flesh is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.

Serving

  1. 8

    Serve the Fish

Remove the fish from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes. Serve with extra lemon wedges and a sprinkle of fresh herbs for garnish.
