Method

Preparing the Broth

  1. 1

    Sauté Aromatics

In a large pot, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and chopped onion, and sauté until the onion is translucent.

  2. 2

    Add Tomatoes and Stock

Stir in the diced tomatoes, fish stock (or water), bay leaves, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Bring the mixture to a simmer.

  3. 3

    Simmer the Broth

Allow the broth to simmer for about 15 minutes, letting the flavors meld together.

Cooking the Seafood

  1. 4

    Add Seafood

Add the shrimp, calamari, clams, mussels, and lobster to the simmering broth. Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the seafood is cooked through and the clams and mussels have opened.

  2. 5

    Finish with Parsley

Stir in the chopped fresh parsley just before serving.

Making Crispy Bread

  1. 6

    Prepare the Baguette

Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Arrange the baguette slices on a baking sheet.

  2. 7

    Season and Bake

Drizzle the baguette slices with 2 tablespoons of olive oil and sprinkle with garlic powder and salt. Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until golden and crispy.

Serving

  1. 8

    Serve the Soup

Ladle the seafood soup into bowls and serve hot with crispy bread on the side.
