Tartare

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Start by finely dicing the Big Eye Tuna into small cubes, about 1/4 inch in size. Place the diced tuna in a mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Dice the Avocado and Mango

Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a bowl. Dice it into small cubes similar to the tuna. Do the same with the mango, removing the pit and dicing it into small cubes.

  3. 3

    Chop the Cilantro

Rinse the cilantro under cold water, shake off the excess water, and chop it finely. Add it to the mixing bowl with the tuna.

Mixing the Tartare

  1. 4

    Combine the Ingredients

In the bowl with the tuna, avocado, mango, and cilantro, add the lime juice, green onion oil, and season with salt and black pepper to taste.

  2. 5

    Gently Mix

Using a spatula, gently fold the ingredients together until well combined, being careful not to mash the avocado.

Serving

  1. 6

    Plate the Tartare

Using a ring mold or a small bowl, pack the tuna tartare mixture tightly and invert it onto a plate to create a neat presentation.

  2. 7

    Garnish

Drizzle a little extra green onion oil around the plate for added flavor and garnish with additional cilantro if desired.

  3. 8

    Enjoy

Serve immediately as an appetizer or light meal, and enjoy the fresh flavors!
