Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

In a small bowl, mix the olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Rub this mixture generously over both sides of the ribeye steaks.

  2. 2

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill or grill pan to high heat for about 10 minutes.

  3. 3

    Grill the Steak

Place the steaks on the hot grill and cook for 4-5 minutes for medium-rare. Flip the steaks and grill for another 4-5 minutes. Adjust cooking time for desired doneness.

  4. 4

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Fries Preparation

  1. 5

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel the russet potatoes and cut them into thin strips, about 1/4 inch thick.

  2. 6

    Soak the Potatoes

Place the cut potatoes in a bowl of cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.

  3. 7

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  4. 8

    Fry the Potatoes

Drain the soaked potatoes and pat them dry with paper towels. Fry them in batches for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

  5. 9

    Season the Fries

While the fries are still hot, sprinkle them with salt and paprika to taste.

Serving

  1. 10

    Plate the Dish

Slice the rested steak against the grain and arrange on a plate. Serve alongside the hot fries.

  2. 11

    Garnish

Sprinkle with fresh parsley for a burst of color and flavor.
