Steak Preparation

Season the Steak
In a small bowl, mix the olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Rub this mixture generously over both sides of the ribeye steaks.

Preheat the Grill
Preheat your grill or grill pan to high heat for about 10 minutes.

Rest the Steak
Remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Prepare the Potatoes
Peel the russet potatoes and cut them into thin strips, about 1/4 inch thick.

Heat the Oil
In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

Fry the Potatoes
Drain the soaked potatoes and pat them dry with paper towels. Fry them in batches for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

While the fries are still hot, sprinkle them with salt and paprika to taste.
