Method

Fish Dip Preparation

    Prepare the Fish

    In a mixing bowl, flake the smoked fish into small pieces and remove any bones.

    Mix the Dip

    Add the softened cream cheese, sour cream, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, chopped dill, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper to the bowl with the fish.

    Combine Ingredients

    Using a fork or hand mixer, combine all ingredients until well blended and creamy. Adjust seasoning to taste.

    Chill

    Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors meld.

House Pickles Preparation

    Prepare Pickling Liquid

    In a saucepan, combine white vinegar, water, sugar, salt, dill seeds, and crushed garlic cloves. Bring to a boil over medium heat.

    Add Cucumbers

    Once the mixture is boiling, add the sliced cucumbers. Remove from heat and let cool.

    Pickle the Cucumbers

    Transfer the cucumbers and pickling liquid to a jar or airtight container. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.

Serving the Dip

    Serve

    Spoon the smoked fish dip into a serving bowl and serve chilled with house pickles and Cuban crackers on the side.
