Preparation

1

Prepare the Simple Syrup

If you don't have simple syrup, combine equal parts sugar and water in a saucepan. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is fully dissolved. Allow to cool before use.

2

Juice the Limes

Cut a fresh lime in half and use a juicer or squeeze by hand to extract 1 oz of lime juice. Strain to remove pulp, if desired.

Mixing the Drink

3

Combine Ingredients

In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, pour in 2 oz of Caribbean rum, 1 oz of fresh lime juice, 0.5 oz of maraschino liqueur, and 0.5 oz of simple syrup.

4

Shake the Cocktail

Seal the shaker and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds until well chilled.

5

Strain into Glass

Strain the mixture into a chilled cocktail glass.

Garnishing

6

Add Garnish

Garnish the drink with 1 maraschino cherry and a lime wheel on the rim of the glass.
