Burger Patty

Toppings

Method

Preparing the Patty

  1. 1

    Combine Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties, about ¾ inch thick. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty to prevent it from puffing up while cooking.

Cooking the Patty

  1. 3

    Heat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes for medium-rare, or longer for desired doneness.

  3. 5

    Add Cheese (Optional)

If using cheese, add a slice on top of each patty during the last minute of cooking, covering with a lid to melt.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 6

    Toast the Buns

Optionally, toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 7

    Layer Ingredients

On the bottom half of each bun, place a generous amount of shredded lettuce. Add the cooked patty on top, followed by slices of tomato and onion.

  3. 8

    Complete the Burger

Place the top half of the bun over the stacked ingredients. Serve immediately with your favorite side.
