Method
Preparation
- 1
Chill glass
Place a tall Collins or highball glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes or fill it with ice and water while you prepare ingredients to chill it quickly.
- 2
If using fresh orange juice, squeeze and measure 2 fl oz. If using yuzu syrup or white peach syrup, have it measured and ready.
Build the Shirley Moshi
- 3
Fill the chilled glass with the ice cubes, leaving about 1 inch of headspace.
- 4
Pour the house grenadine over the ice first — this creates the drink's signature layered color.
- 5
Add the freshly squeezed orange juice directly over the grenadine.
- 6
- 7
- 8
Add 1/2 tsp yuzu syrup for a bright citrus-forward Shirley Moshi, or 1/2 tsp white peach syrup for a stone-fruit, floral version. Gently stir once to incorporate—do not over-stir to preserve effervescence.
Garnish & Serve
- 9
Garnish with an orange wheel on the rim and a maraschino cherry dropped in the glass (optional).
- 10
Serve immediately with a straw. Encourage the guest to give it a gentle stir before drinking if they want a fully blended flavor; otherwise the layered look and gradual mixing are part of the experience.
