Combine ingredients
In a cocktail shaker, add 1 oz Hendrick's Gin, 1 oz green chartreuse, 1 oz maraschino liqueur, and 3/4 oz fresh lime juice. If you prefer a slightly sweeter balance, add 1/4 teaspoon simple syrup. This recipe keeps the classic Last Word proportions but substitutes Hendrick's to bring cucumber-and-rose notes.

Add ice and shake
Add about 6 ice cubes to the shaker. Seal and shake vigorously for 12–18 seconds until the outside of the shaker is frosted and the mixture is well chilled and slightly diluted.

Double strain and serve
Using a Hawthorne strainer and a fine mesh (or double strain with the shaker's built-in strainer plus a fine sieve), pour the cocktail into the chilled coupe. Double-straining removes small ice shards and any lime pulp for a silky texture.

Garnish
Float a thin lime wheel on the surface or thread a thin cucumber ribbon onto a cocktail pick and rest it across the rim. Hendrick's gin pairs especially well with a cucumber ribbon to emphasize its botanical character.

Serve
Serve immediately while cold. Estimated single serving — enjoy responsibly.
