Lasagna Directions
- 1
Prepare the Meat Sauce
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until softened. Add ground beef, cooking until browned. Stir in marinara sauce, salt, pepper, and chopped basil. Let simmer for 15 minutes.
- 2
Prepare the Cheese Mixture
In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- 3
Layer the Lasagna
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Spread a thin layer of meat sauce at the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Place 3 lasagna noodles on top, followed by half of the ricotta mixture, one-third of mozzarella, and one-third of meat sauce. Repeat layers, finishing with noodles, remaining meat sauce, and top with mozzarella and parmesan cheese.
- 4
Bake the Lasagna
Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is golden and bubbly. Let it cool for 10 minutes before serving.
