Method

Burger Patty Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and form each portion into a patty about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent it from puffing while cooking.

Cooking the Burger

  1. 3

    Preheat Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes.

  2. 4

    Cook Patties

Place the patties on the grill or in the skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C). If using cheese, add a slice on top of each patty in the last minute of cooking to melt.

Toppings Preparation

  1. 5

    Prepare Vegetables

While the burgers are cooking, wash the lettuce leaves, slice the tomato into thick rounds, and slice the onion into rings.

Burger Assembly

  1. 6

    Assemble Burgers

On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked patty, tomato slice, and onion rings. Add ketchup and mustard to taste, then top with the other half of the bun.

  2. 7

    Serve

Serve the burgers immediately with your choice of side.
