Danishes

Method

Danishes

  1. 1

    Prepare the Dough

In a bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt, then add melted butter, eggs, and the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms, then knead for about 5-10 minutes.

  2. 2

    Chill the Dough

Cover the dough with a damp cloth and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

  3. 3

    Roll and Fill

Roll out the dough on a floured surface, cut into squares, and place cream cheese and fruit or preserves in the center. Fold corners over the filling and pinch to seal.

  4. 4

    Bake

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the danishes on a baking sheet, brush with egg wash, and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Drizzle with powdered sugar glaze if desired.

Muffins

  1. 5

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix well.

  2. 6

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk together milk, vegetable oil, and eggs until well combined.

  3. 7

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Gently fold in blueberries.

  4. 8

    Bake Muffins

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a muffin tin with liners, fill with batter, and bake for 20-25 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.

Bagels

  1. 9

    Prepare the Dough

In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes. In a large bowl, mix flour and salt, then add the yeast mixture. Knead until smooth.

  2. 10

    First Rise

Cover and let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

  3. 11

    Shape Bagels

Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces, roll each into a ball, and poke a hole in the center to form a bagel shape.

  4. 12

    Boil and Bake

Boil bagels in salted water for 1-2 minutes on each side. Place on a baking sheet, brush with egg wash, and bake at 425°F (220°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden.
