Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Noodles

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the lasagna noodles and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Make the Meat Sauce

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until the onion is translucent. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Cheese Mixture

In a medium bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, grated Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, and salt. Mix well until smooth and creamy.

Assembly and Baking

  1. 4

    Layer the Lasagna

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a 9x13 inch baking dish, spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom. Layer 4 lasagna noodles over the sauce, followed by half of the ricotta cheese mixture, a third of the mozzarella cheese, and a third of the meat sauce. Repeat the layers, ending with noodles, the remaining meat sauce, and topping with the remaining mozzarella cheese.

  2. 5

    Bake the Lasagna

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil (to prevent sticking, you can spray the foil with cooking spray). Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 25 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

  3. 6

    Cool and Serve

Let the lasagna cool for at least 15 minutes before slicing. Serve hot and enjoy!
