French Fries
Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Potatoes
Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into even sticks, about 1/4 inch thick.
- 2
Soak the Potatoes
Soak the cut potatoes in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch. Drain and pat dry with a clean towel.
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a large heavy pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
- 4
Fry the Potatoes
Carefully add the dried potato sticks to the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pot. Fry for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
- 5
Drain and Season
Remove the fries from the oil using a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. While still hot, season with salt, pepper, and paprika to taste.
- 6
Serve
Serve the fries hot and enjoy your large serving of crispy French fries!
