Method
Burger Patty Preparation
- 1
Mixing the Patty
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix thoroughly with your hands until the seasonings are evenly distributed.
- 2
Forming the Patty
Divide the beef mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a round patty, about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to help them cook evenly.
Cooking the Patty
- 3
Grilling the Burger
Preheat a grill or frying pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the burger patties on the grill. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side.
- 4
Flipping the Patty
Flip the patties and place a slice of cheddar cheese on each. Cook for an additional 4-5 minutes until the cheese is melted and the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
Assembling the Burger
- 5
Toasting the Buns
While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
- 6
Building the Burger
Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Place a lettuce leaf on top, followed by the cooked patty with melted cheese. Add slices of tomato, red onion, and pickles. Finally, spread ketchup and mustard on the top half of the bun and place it on top of the assembled burger.
