Melt Chocolate and Butter
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the unsweetened chocolate and unsalted butter. Heat in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval, until melted and smooth.
- 3
Mix in Powdered Sugar
Add the powdered sugar to the melted chocolate mixture and mix until well combined.
- 4
Add Eggs and Vanilla
Whisk in the eggs, egg yolks, and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
- 5
Incorporate Dry Ingredients
Sift in the all-purpose flour and add a pinch of salt. Gently fold the mixture until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- 6
Fill Ramekins
Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins, filling each about 3/4 full.
- 7
Bake the Cakes
Place the ramekins on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are set but the center is still soft.
- 8
Cool Slightly
Remove the cakes from the oven and let them cool for about 1 minute.
- 9
Invert and Serve
Carefully run a knife around the edges of the ramekins, then invert each cake onto a plate. Serve immediately.
