Method

Cooking the Patty

  1. 1

    Prepare the Beef Mixture

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently until just combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the beef mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about 3/4 inch thick.

  3. 3

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip them.

  4. 4

    Add Cheese

After flipping, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the cheese is melted and the patty reaches desired doneness.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 5

    Toast the Buns

If desired, lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster.

  2. 6

    Layer the Ingredients

On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf. Add the cheese-topped beef patty, followed by slices of tomato.

  3. 7

    Add Condiments

Spread ketchup and mustard on the top half of the bun according to your taste.

  4. 8

    Complete the Burger

Place the top half of the bun on the assembled burger and press down gently.
