Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Simple Syrup

In a small saucepan, combine equal parts of sugar and water. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved. Allow to cool before using.

  2. 2

    Muddle the Mint

In a large cocktail shaker, add the fresh mint leaves. Use a muddler to gently press the mint leaves to release their oils, being careful not to tear them apart.

Mixing the Cocktail

  1. 3

    Combine Ingredients

To the cocktail shaker with muddled mint, add vodka, fresh lime juice, and simple syrup. Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds.

  2. 4

    Strain and Serve

Strain the mixture into a large pitcher filled with ice. Top off with club soda and gently stir to combine.

Garnishing

  1. 5

    Add Garnishes

Pour the cocktail into pint or liter glasses. Garnish each glass with a lime wedge and a sprig of mint.
