Burger Patty

Method

Prepare the Patty

  1. 1

    Combine Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, diced jalapenos, crumbled bacon, shredded cheddar jack cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Mix Thoroughly

Using your hands, mix the ingredients together until well combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  3. 3

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about ¾ inch thick.

Cook the Burgers

  1. 4

    Preheat Grill

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 5

    Cook Patties

Place the patties on the grill and cook for about 5-6 minutes per side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).

  3. 6

    Add Smoked Cheddar

In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of smoked cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 7

    Toast Buns

Optional: Lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster.

  2. 8

    Layer Toppings

On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked patty with melted smoked cheddar, a slice of tomato, pickles, ketchup, and mustard.

  3. 9

    Complete the Burger

Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
